Worker's Compensation

• Licensed hearing representatives providing upfront quality are also available to you for consultation free of charge.


• Medical File Consultations: Physicians review the medical file, answer specific questions and offer insights that will lead to higher quality claims management


• Specialty Evaluations: "Include but are not limited to, examinations conducted or reported for evidentiary purposes regarding: schedule loss, degree of disability, validation of treatment plan or diagnosis, causal relationship, diagnosis or treatment of disability, maximum medical improvement, ability to return to work, permanency, appropriateness of treatment, necessity of treatment, proper treatment, extent of disability, second opinion or any other purpose recognized or requested by the Board" Division of Regulatory Affairs, New York State Workers Compensation Board April 2001.


• Following a thorough review of the medical file, the physician will obtain the examinee's history, perform a physical examination and formulate an objective opinion, which you receive in the form of a medical evaluation report.


• Re-Evaluations: Good claims management often dictates the need for periodic re-evaluation. Empire offers "ReEvaluations", geared solely to address changes in Medical status since the last evaluation and how these may affect the current degree of disability, giving you the opportunity to properly manage cases in a more cost effective manner.


• Fast Assessment for Surgery or Treatment (FAST): FAST helps you comply when the law requires medical documentation, within a specified time period, to deny authorization for a procedure. The main feature of FAST is a FAST report addressing only the specific questions of the medical procedure. This will allow you to act quickly to approve or deny authorization. FAST may be in conjunction with a Specialty Evaluation or a file review.


• Testimony: We are proud of Empire's excellent record of physician availability for testimony. Their professionalism and knowledge of the system make it evident that they appreciate the significance of their role within the system.

Disability

Examinations and the written report that results from it are available to serve both regular and enhanced Short and Long Term Disability benefit programs including negotiated Sickness and Accident benefit packages. Our physicians are guided by either your special request or the needs of the plan Functional Capacity Evaluation is also available to either supplement a physicians opinion or as a free standing evaluation in it's own right.

Liability

These examinations and their associate reports serve the needs of both the Personal Injury and the General Liability claims examiner. Our physicians are also available to meet the needs of the legal community when one of these claims becomes more intensely litigated.

• Medical/Legal File Audit:

  Files in Liability cases are often long and involve;, more often than not they are filled with poor copies of records that are of little value to a medical expert when performing either a file review or an Independent Medical Exam. Our staff will not only review the file and prepare a file summary highlighting all the key medical issues and events but also remove al those duplicates, saving money on fees incurred by the law office and the examining Physician.
